Provide Your Email List Subscribers With Quality and Helpful Information
Jan 23rd, 2010 Posted in General | no comment »If you collect the email addresses of visitors to your website, you know how much it can help your business in the terms of building relationships with your customers and for the sales of your products. However, many people make the mistake of holding their subscribers hostage. You should make it easy to opt out of the mailing list. When someone signs up to your list today, there is no guarantee that person will want to stay on your list in the future. I let my subscribers know at the beginning of the email that they have the option of opting out. I also let them know that they can opt out before they sign up. Letting them know this up front can increase subscriptions to your list because people like to know that they can opt out if the information is not what they expected.
You should also keep in touch with the people on your list regularly. The best way to accomplish this is to send out a weekly or monthly newsletter with an occasional email in between. Sending out a newsletter serves a litany of purposes such as:
They remind your subscribers who you are
They give you the opportunity to highlight your knowledge
They give you the opportunity to sell your products and services
Always provide your subscribers on your mailing list with useful and helpful information. Do not inundate your list with a ton of ads about your product. Sending your list too many spammy emails about your product will make them opt out, this is a real turn off for subscribers.
